After bowing down to the College of Arts and Sciences Tigers last year, the College of Engineering reclaimed volleyball glory as they swept Center for Integrated Technologies in a best-of-five-sets championship match during the Intrams: 25-23, 25-17, 25-20.
The Warriors drew first blood with an early kill from Marger Castigador. CIT, who are first-time finalists, recovered to tie the set, 12-12. Engineering won the first set after a fierce exchange of scores with the Knights.
In the second set, the Warriors were in control, thanks to their energy. Castigador and JC Virtudez unleashed powerful spikes that sent the Knights to call for a timeout, but to no avail. CIT kept on making errors, thus losing the set.
The final set showed the Warriors trouncing the Knights through runs of kills underscored by heavy spikes. Finally, the Warriors got the upper hand and held on for the win.
