The crowd expressed loud appreciation when XU-CDT star dancer Karissa Falcon and Mr. Ben Mark, a chemistry teacher, artfully interpreted the Flamenco. They cheered even more when the female members of XU-CDT went out with their leg-revealing red and black dresses to dance another alluring Spanish dance number.
Aside from the dancers of XU-CDT, dancers of CU Dance Troupe and Liceo de Cagayan University’s Next Move and Folkloric Dance Troupe also performed Spanish dances in the event. Some of the dances performed were Paceo de Plaza, Flamenco, Llanceros de Bayabas and El Baile de Esta Noche, accompanied by harmonic music and rhythmic beats of the string instruments by the Rondalla live band.
El Baile de Esta Noche is an event that not only presents the exquisiteness and liveliness of Spanish dances, but also depicts the beauty that the Spanish era in brought to the Philippine culture and heritage.
